New Delhi: The highly-awaited trailer of Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan has finally released and it promises a heartfelt love story of two visually impaired people who fall in love and eventually undergo a heartbreak. Marking the debut of Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor’s daughter, Shanaya Kapoor, the film is inspired by Ruskin Bond’s beautiful short story, ‘The Eyes Have It’, which narrates the story of the love affair between two strangers who are blind but are unaware of each other’s blindness.
The film, on the other hand, is the blend of vintage romance combined with the complexities of a modern relationship. The trailer shows the story of Saba (played by Shanaya Kapoor), a visually impaired girl, who meets blind man Jahan (played by Vikrant Massey). The trailer shows the old-school romance wrapped in a GenZ relationship. The two meet during a train journey and fall in love, making memories along the way.
However, their love hit rock bottom when Saba’s marriage is fixed with another man, sparking her romance with him but secretly still being in love with Jahan. The film is full of drama, romance, passion and heartbreak, which makes it a quintessential Bollywood romantic movie.
Meanwhile, the film’s music is composed by Vishal Mishra and is directed by Santosh Singh. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on July 11, 2025.
