New Delhi: A 27-year-old Indian woman was found dead inside her ex-boyfriend’s house in Columbia, US. The deceased has been identified as Nikitha Godishala, a data analyst by profession.

Her ex-boyfriend, identified as Arjun Sharma (26), had filed a missing person’s complaint on January 2, claiming that he last saw her on New Year’s Eve. According to reports, police reached Sharma’s apartment on January 3, where they found Godishala’s body bearing stab wounds. Sharma reportedly left the US on the same day he filed the missing person’s report.

Investigations underway

Investigations revealed that Godishala was killed at around 7 pm on December 31, 2025. Police said the motive behind the killing is yet to be ascertained. Howard County Police are working with federal law enforcement agencies to locate and arrest the ex-boyfriend.

Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy is in contact with Godishala’s family and is extending assistance. “The Embassy is also following up on the matter with the local authorities,” it said.
