Sources say that the countries involved in the exercise are usually divided into different groups. China and Pakistan remain in one group, while India is kept in a separate group.

After ZAPAD, the armies of India and Russia will conduct another major exercise. In October, the Indra-2025 exercise will be held in India. It started in 2003 with only the Navy, but now the Army and Air Force are also included in it.

Closer ties with US

The main strategy of Indra is to work on anti-terrorism operations, maritime security, disaster management and joint strategy. In recent years, modern aspects like drones, cyber security and electronic warfare have also been added to it.

India's military preparations can be gauged from the fact that major exercises are going on with Russia as well as America.

India has been currently participating in military exercises with strategic partners like Russia, America and Egypt. It is clear from this that the Indian Army is not only increasing strategic cooperation but is also continuously strengthening its presence and strength on multinational forums.
