New Delhi: The International Hair Freezing Contest is a unique one that takes place in Canada every year. It started as an activity organised by hot spring owners to attract more tourists in the icy winters.

The contest originated at Takhini Hot Pools in 2011 after guests noticed how their hair froze in the cold while relaxing in the hot springs. Subsequently, the guests and the staff were amused by the idea of experimenting with new frozen hairstyles.
