‘World’s most jealous woman’ makes husband take lie detector test every time he came home

A woman named Debbi Wood made her husband take lie detector tests every time he came back home to prove he was faithful to her. Debbi was dubbed the "world’s most jealous woman" when when she appeared on This Morning in 2013.

What started as a joke quickly turned serious. Steve once said, jokingly, that he’d take a lie detector test to show he was not doing anything wrong when he went out. Debbi took the comment to heart. She ordered a lie detector kit and began testing him every time he returned home.

The couple were in a long-distance relationship when they started dating, which only increased Debbi’s fears of infidelity. Her insecurities grew worse after she discovered that Steve had seen someone else while they were still getting to know each other. Although Steve insisted they weren’t exclusive back then, Debbi felt deeply hurt. She said she became "resentful" over what she called a "slight deception."

Debbi even checked Steve’s bank statements and phone records to ensure he wasn’t hiding anything. She believed she was simply protecting what she had. “Well, when you’ve got a good man, you’re not going to let him go, are you?” she said about her behaviour.

One of her most extreme rules was banning Steve from watching any TV programmes featuring women. This came after an advert for a women’s razor triggered her jealousy. Debbi told MailOnline, “One night, an advert for a women’s razor came on television and I felt panicky thinking that Steve was eyeing the model up. The only thing that could put my mind at rest was banning him from watching any programmes that have women in them.”

A year later, Debbi and Steve returned to This Morning with updates on their relationship. They said that things had improved significantly. The lie detector tests were no longer a regular event and happened only “once in a blue moon”.

Steve praised the progress they had made. He said their relationship was “absolutely amazing” whenever Debbi could keep her jealousy under control. Debbi, on her part, said her issues stemmed from a past traumatic relationship, not Steve.

“When we’re not arguing about this, our relationship is absolutely amazing,” Steve shared. “I make her laugh in ways she’s never laughed before. She makes me laugh in ways I’ve never laughed before.”
