Honda introduces WN7 as their first full-size electric bike

Honda WN7, for now, is only available in the European market and is equipped with a fixed lithium-ion battery with a claimed range of 130 km.

New Delhi: Honda have unveiled their first full-size electric motorcycle, the WN7, after displaying it at the Fun concept at EICMA 2024 and then teasing and testing it in Europe this month. At present, it is being introduced only in the European markets. In EICMA 2025, the bike will in full view of the public and will be revealed with detailed specifications.

Honda have said that the WN7 comes from three elements, ‘W’ which is derived from the development theme of Wind, ‘N’ goes for naked motorcycle design and ‘7’ determines the power class it belongs to. The Honda WN7 carries forward the slim, minimalistic styling that was previously seen in the 20224 concept at EICMA and uses a fixed lithium-ion battery with a claimed range of 130 km.

Charging options include both a CCS2 rapid charging that takes the battery to go from 20 to 80 per cent in just 30 minutes, while the 6kVA home wall-box charger can do a 0-100 per cent charge in under three hours. 

It weighs around 217 kgs and is powered by an 18kW water-cooled motor that offers performance that can be compared with the likes of a 600cc ICE bike, backed up by 100 Nm of torque, which is a competitive number even for litre-class petrol vehicles. Honda will sell an 11kW trim aimed at the A1 licence in Europe. 

In terms of equipment, the WN7 comes with a five-inch TFT display with RoadSync smartphone pairing and EV-specific menus, along with all-LED lighting. It comes with the single-sided swingarm that the concept had displayed. It is going to come in three colours: gloss black with copper accents, matte black and grey. It is yet to be seen if it comes to India.
