Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition grows to 999 units: price, booking date, details
Mahindra has expanded the BE 6 Batman Edition electric SUV from 300 to 999 units in India, priced at ₹27.79 lakh. Bookings open on August 23 at 11AM (IST), with deliveries starting September 20 to mark International Batman Day. The SUV carries Gotham-inspired styling, gold accents, and custom Bat emblems inside and out.
New Delhi: Mahindra’s collaboration with Warner Bros Discovery for the BE 6 Batman Edition has taken an unexpected turn. What was initially billed as a 300-unit collector’s model is now expanding to 999 units in India. The move comes just days after the SUV’s August 14 launch, which was tied to Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy.
Priced at ₹27.79 lakh (ex-showroom), the Batman Edition is based on the Pack Three 79kWh variant of the BE 6 electric SUV. The company says the change was made to accommodate overwhelming interest from buyers who wanted to grab a piece of what many are calling the "Batmobile for the masses.”
When and how can you book Mahindra BE6 Batman Edition?
Mahindra has opened a "preference option” on its official website from 5PM today (August 21). However, the actual booking window begins on August 23 at 11AM (IST). Deliveries will start on September 20, which neatly aligns with International Batman Day.
For those who track such launches, the waiting list is expected to get long. The limited-edition tag may lose some shine with 999 units, but that hasn’t stopped enthusiasts from rushing to secure one.
What makes the Mahindra's Batman Edition stand out
The BE 6 Batman Edition is all about details that scream Gotham City:
- Exterior styling: Satin Black finish, 20-inch alloys, and gold-painted suspension with Batman decals.
- Special touches: Bat emblems appear almost everywhere — hub caps, bumpers, quarter panels, the Infinity Roof, and even in carpet lamps that project the Bat symbol.
- Interior design: Suede leather upholstery with gold stitching, charcoal leather dashboard, and a numbered Batman Edition plaque in brushed gold. The Bat emblem is embossed on seats, the Boost button, and scattered across the cabin.
- Tech elements: A Batman Edition welcome animation on the infotainment screen, along with a customised exterior sound profile.
It is clear Mahindra wanted to go beyond just a sticker job. Even enthusiasts who don’t care for Batman might find the design touches unique enough to stand out in the EV crowd.
