Maruti Suzukis prices after GST drop by a significant rate
Maruti Suzuki's latest price cut has made both the Swift and the Baleno come at a price cut of more than Rs 1 lakh as the rest of the portfolio becomes more accessible.
New Delhi: After the government announced the revised rates of GST on passenger vehicles, Maruti Suzuki is the latest affordable carmaker to reveal the big price cut across their lineup. The portfolio is set to become much more accessible, bringing a much bigger audience to the company now.
Effective from September 22nd, 2025, the new tax structure will bring a huge drop in prices from small cars to SUVs. The pricing has been confirmed by Autocar, with both Alto K10 and the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso getting a pricing reduction of Rs 53,000. The very popular tall-boy from the brand, Wagon R, receives a good reduction of Rs 64,000, with Maruti Suzuki Celerio getting a cost-cut of Rs 63,000, while the Ignis gets a price reduction of Rs 69,000.
The brand’s two MPV have also received a hefty relaxation in terms of pricing, with Eeco coming with a Rs 60,000 relaxation while Ertiga receives a price reduction of Rs 47,000. One of the company’s best-selling hatchbacks ever, the Maruti Suzuki Swift receives a reduction of Rs 1.06 lakh, with its saloon sibling Dzire coming with a price reduction of Rs 87,000.
While the compact SUV from Arena, Brezza, gets Rs 48,000, the Grand Vitara has a price cut of Rs 68,000. The premium hatchback from Nexa, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, has a price cut of Rs 80,000, while the Fronx is now Rs 1.11 lakh cheaper.
Maruti Suzuki’s small off-roader Jimny is also now a more rational option with a price cut of Rs 52,000. Even the XL6 gets a Rs 52,000 price cut, while the Invicto is cheaper by Rs 61,000. The aim of GST 2.0 is to boost domestic car sales and make the four-wheel cars more affordable.
