Month of big cars: Five SUVs coming to India in January 2026

Carmakers in 2026 are starting the new year on the front foot, with loads of launches slated for the month of January itself. Here are the five SUVs that are scheduled to come in India next month.

New Delhi: With 2026 knocking on the door, the carmakers are surely looking to start the year with the big cars from the word go. In the preceding years, the big cars have dominated the Indian roads. Every big brand that we have on the road has a car lined up in one way or the other.

In the segment, EVs, facelifts and nameplate revivals are all keenly coming at the start of the month itself. Usually, a quiet time post the festive holidays, this year, January has a car in every segment. In this article, we are going to look at the SUVs only.

Next generation of Kia Seltos

The next generation of Kia Seltos is going to be officially the first launch of the year. Having been unveiled this year, Kia will be announcing the prices of the new-gen Seltos on January 2nd, 2026, and the SUV comes on Kia’s K3 platform. There have been major changes to the design at the front, with an upgraded grille and lighting. The cabin felt quite premium and was loaded with tech.

Mahindra XUV 7XO

Mahindra XUV 700 facelift, named the XUV 7XO, will be debuting on January 5th, and while it gets the same engine, the technology and looks are expected to be refreshed. The cabin is likely to get a triple-screen and better sound insulation. The exterior should be similar in styling to the brand’s new electric SUVs.

New generation Renault Duster

Renault Duster is coming back after a gap of three years and will be launched on January 26th. Having been one of the first examples of the compact SUV segment, the CMF-B platform comes with a tougher design, modern tech and features. The brand is also looking for hybrid solutions and could make the nameplate quite interesting in the long run.

Nissan Gravite 

Nissan recently gave a teaser of their new compact MPV, the Gravite, based on the Triber platform. Details like the pricing and powertrain are expected to be revealed in January 2026. It will most certainly be focusing on fuel efficiency, overall space and affordability.

Skoda Kushaq facelift

Skoda will give the first big upgrade to the Kushaq in January, with the exterior to receive subtle changes, as will the engine block and the power it produces. On the inside, it will be getting a huge upgrade, which includes a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, level 2 ADAS and the lot.
