Delhi will also become the second metropolitan region after Mumbai, where Tesla is planning to install charging infrastructure. The company has planned to install four charging stations, Saket and Aerocity in Delhi, Golf Course Road in Gurgaon and one location in Noida as well. According to Isabel Fan, senior regional director of Tesla, these four charging stations should have 16 superchargers and 15 destination chargers.

For their second showroom, Tesla have rented 8,200 sq ft of commercial space in Delhi’s Aerocity with a starting rent of Rs 17.22 lakh per month, according to real estate researchers CRE Matrix. Further, the Elon Musk-led brand has leased the space for 9 years, and the rentals will increase by 15 per cent every 36 months.

In India, the company is selling Model Y, manufactured in China and comes in a less chartered space. While the EV options have increased, Tesla might be able to find a market space for them. Of course, the quicker the brand understands the Indian roads and customers, the better it will perform.
