Explained: How candidates are allocated to KVS and NVS after merit list

The online registration window for KVS, NVS recruitment 2025 will be available till December 4. Candidates have to mandatorily submit their preferences after the preparation of the merit list.

New Delhi: The long wait is over. Candidates who are aspiring for the teaching and non-teaching posts in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) might be busy with the registration process. The CBSE, on behalf of KVS and NVS, has released the recruitment notification and started the online registration process on the official portals at cbse.gov.in, kvsangathan.nic.in and navodaya.gov.in.

Interested candidates can submit the application form till December 4, 2025. The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 14,967 vacancies, of which 9126 are in KVS and 5841 are in NVS. Aspirants must also get familiar with the process of allocation of candidates after the preparation of the merit list. Let's explore.

Know about KVS, NVS selection process

The selection of candidates to the posts in KVS and NVS will be based on the two-tier examination followed by an interview. The merit list will be prepared based on the weightage of 85 per cent in the Tier 2 examination and 15 per cent in the interview. The marks for the interview will be 100 marks.

The exam authority will be releasing the merit list after the written exam and interview. Candidates have to mandatorily submit their preferences on the official portal after the merit list. One should note that the allotment to the posts will be purely based on the merit and choice indicated by the candidates. Candidates who do not fill their choice within the period will not be considered in the merit and no post will be allotted. There will be no waiting list as well.

The official notice reads, "The request for change in choice (i.e. preference among KVS and NVS filled in online application) will not be accepted for whatsoever reason."

"The mode & criteria of selection and eligibility conditions of the applicants for interview/Personal Interaction to the notified posts shall be final and binding. However, CBSE (on behalf of KVS/NVS) may change the mode and /or criteria at any stage of selection, whichever so, for all the notified posts. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard," the notice reads.
