Bengaluru mall offers special parking spot for expectant mothers, wins praise
An Instagram user from Bengaluru shared a clip of a parking lot from Nexxus mall in the city, which showed reserved parking for expectant mothers. This parking space was painted in soft pink colour and was distinct from the other spots. It was also decorated. The user was all praise for this initiative by the mall admin. He demanded that other malls and public spaces should also take such initiatives.
New Delhi: A mall in Bengaluru has kept a parking space reserved specially for expectant mothers. A video showing the dedicated space for parking for mothers-to-be was shared by an Instagram user and it went viral in no time. The user who shared the clip was alll praises for the mall's management for thinking about expectant mothers and reserving space for their vehicles in the parking lot.

The Instagram user shared a photograph of the mall parking and also a video of the beautiful pink parking lot reserved for expectant mothers. Akshay Raina described the initiative as a simple yet meaningful step towards inclusivity.
The clip shared by Raina, showed a board which read, "Reserved for mothers to be." The parking space was also painted in a soft pink colour, clearly marking out that space of the entire area. The distinct colour and signage make it much more easier to be spotted, in the usually crowded and filled basement parking of malls.
Sharing the photograph, Raina said, "Very nice concept and I loved it."
The mall where the parking space has been built is Nexus Mall in Bengaluru. Talking about the initiative Raina said, "Hats off to Nexusmalls in Bengaluru where they have kept separate space for women especially mothers to be. All other malls in India should implement the same."
Social media joins Raina in applauding mall administration
As soon as the clip was shared on social media, it received immense praise from netizens. Social media users also applauded the mall owners and admin for this special initiative.
Many netizens asked other malls and public spaces to make similar arrangements. The idea seemed to click with several users and the comment section was filled with positive reactions.
One user wrote, "It is very helpful.". Another said, "It is a space that is much essential in largely crowded and confusing parking of malls so that mothers to be can find it easy park their vehicle and go easily in the mall."
Raina himself shared more details about the parking lot. He wrote, "As a pregnancy progresses, a mother’s center of gravity shifts, making it harder to balance and walk long distances. These spots are placed closer to the entrance to prevent physical strain and are usually wider so they can open the car door fully to get out comfortably. It’s just a small gesture to make a public space safer for both the mom and the baby!"
