Bengaluru man dies after falling on tracks at Kengeri metro station; chaos follows on roads
As per reports, the 38-year-old man jumped on the tracks just before the arrival of the train. Acting swiftly, the alerted railway staff cut off the power supply but the man got stuck between train and the track.
In a tragic incident, a middle aged man fell on the metro railway tracks at Kengeri metro station on Friday morning. The deceased has been identified as Shantagoud Police Patil, resident of Devara Hipparagi in Vijayapura district, officials said.
Following the incident, the metro service between Mysuru Road and Challaghatta station were suspended. However, the services on the Purple Line operated till Mysuru road only. The services later resumed around 9.40 am, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited said in a statement.
Metro staff cuts power supply

Hundreds of commuters got stuck at the station after the train services were disrupted for over an hour. Later, the commuters were informed by Metro staff about the disruption in services for some time, said a report in Deccan Herald. Hearing the announcement, some of the commuters headed to bus stations and took an auto to reach their destinations and other parts of the city.
Cops removes body from tracks
Later a police team from Kengeri station rushed to the spot and removed the man's body from the metro tracks. The body was later shifted to Rajarajeshwari Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
The incident at the Kengeri station impacted thousands of commuters heading to their offices and other destinations. with disruptions in metro services, a traffic was witnessed on Mysuru Road as commuters traffic was shifted to roads in the morning peak hours. This caused huge inconvenience to commuters.
