New Delhi: A 34-year-old man with 16 criminal cases registered against him died on Tuesday evening of a gunshot wound near Gurgaon's Kherki Daula toll plaza.
According to the police, the deceased was Manoj Ojha. A resident of Chhatarpur, he had 16 criminal cases registered against him in Delhi. Those cases included murder charges, attempt to murder, dacoity, robbery, and theft.
Ojha was even convicted in two cases. In June 2025, he was released on bail after serving a prison term. After he was shot near the toll plaza, the incident was reported to the police. Officers have reportedly said, "A team from the Kherki Daula police station reached the spot and found the injured man in a Bolero vehicle. He was immediately shifted to Medanta Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. During examination of the vehicle at the scene, we have recovered two loaded pistols."
Ojha was reportedly a history-sheeter who had a considerable criminal record, and the police are probing into the incident. A police official reportedly said, "Scene-of-crime, FSL, and fingerprint teams have inspected the spot and the vehicle. The body has been sent for post-mortem, and the family has been informed."
A few days ago, a 44-year-old woman was shot dead in Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh area on Sunday. The police are trying to find out whether the murder has any connection with the 2023 killing of her husband. Sharing details, the police said that they received a call in the morning, informing them that a woman had been shot at. After reaching the spot, the police found that the woman was lying in a pool of blood. They also recovered an empty cartridge from the site.
