Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will field Maganti Sunitha, the wife of late MLA Maganti Gopinath for the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election, tv9 telugu reported.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao met party workers at a review meeting held at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, KTR said, “We hope that Maganti Sunitha will have everyone's blessings.” He said that the party's victory in the Jubilee Hills by-election with a huge majority will be a fitting tribute to Gopinath.
‘Only poor face Hydraa’s bulldozers’:
He slammed the Congress government for failing to implement promises made during Assembly elections in 2023 and demolishing homes of poor in the name of Hydraa.
“A vote for Congress in Rahmath Nagar is a license to demolish poor people’s homes. Hydraa won’t touch the rich. Even illegal house of Chief Minister’s brother Tirupati Reddy, near Durgam Cheruvu was spared. But in Rahmath Nagar, Borabanda, Yousufguda, Shaikpet and Erragadda, only the poor face bulldozers.”
He also accused Congress leaders of wanting to buy elections with cash.
Maganti Sunitha urged party workers to stand by her like they stood by her late husband. Maganti Gopinath passed away in June 2025.
Meanwhile, the party has begun ground work in Jubilee Hills constituency in August in a bid to retain the seat. The BRS is also in a do or die situation, having won the Assembly seat in 2018 and 2023. It is interesting to note that the party had won all seats in the Greater Hyderabad area, except Ghoshamahal.
