Chinese Manja injures man on two-wheeler on flyover in Hyderabad

The man identified as Surya Teja, an employee at a software company in Gachibowli, was on his way back home on Sunday afternoon, after attending work.

Hyderabad: A 33-year-old man was injured while he was traveling on a two-wheeler on a flyover in Gachibowli, after coming into contact with a Chinese Manja on Sunday, tv9 telugu reported.

He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he underwent a procedure to suture his injury on the shoulder.

The man identified as Surya Teja, an employee at a software company in Gachibowli, was on his way back home on Sunday afternoon, after attending work. He was on SLN Terminal flyover, when he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder and saw a bleeding injury. He was shifted to a private hospital in an ambulance by the locals.

He was treated at a hospital in Madhapur, where his wound was sutured. The hospital said that he was admitted as an in-patient and that he was undergoing treatment.

Hyderabad Task Force bans Chinese Manja:

Meanwhile, West Zone Task Force on Sunday arrested a kite trader for reportedly selling banned Chinese nylon string kite, in Kalapathar area of the city.

At least 345 bobbins worth Rs 6.9 lakh were seized. The manja was reportedly illegally sourced from Haryana.

The police said that Mohammed Shazaib procured the banned glass-coated manja from his associate in Karnal, Haryana to earn quick money through illegal means. A case has been booked and he was later arrested.

Chinese Manja was banned in 2016 in Telangana to protect human life and birds. Violators face upto five years in jail or Rs 1 lakh in fine.
