Cold wave grips Hyderabad as temperature plunges into single digits

Hyderabad: Intense cold wave has gripped the city as temperatures plunged into single digits in many areas.
HCU Serilingamaplly recorded 8.4°C while Rajendra Nagar recorded 9.2°C and MoulaAli recorded 9.4°C. In the outskirts, Moinabad recorded the lowest temperature of 6.6°C followed by Ibrahimpatnam, 7.7°C. BHEL stands at 10.5°C, Gachibowli 11.4°C, Qutubullapur 11.9°C, West Maredpally 12.4°C, Hayathnagar 12.7°C, Kishanbagh 12.8°C, Musheerabad, Himayatnagar 12.9°C.
In Telangana, Kohir mandal in Sangareddy recorded the lowest mercury of the season with 5.6°C followed by Asifabad at 6°C. Adilabad recorded 6.2°C while Rangareddy temperature was at 6.6°C, Vikarabad, 6.9°C, Siddipet 7.4°C, Medak, 7.8°C, Kamareddy, 7.8°C,Nizamabad, 7.8°C, Narayanpet, 8.2°C, Telangana Development Planning Society data said.
Temperatures are expected to stay low in the morning and night over the next three days in Hyderabad, weather blogger T Balaji said.
Minimum temperatures are likely to be below normal by 2°C to 3°C over the next 3-4 days, India Meteorological Department said. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 30°C and 13°C respectively.
