Hyderabad: Food Safety Task Force and officers inspected ten Absolute Barbeque outlets in Hyderabad including in AS Rao Nagar, Kompally, Medipally, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Gachibowli, Inorbit, Miyapur, Vanasthalipuram, Secunderabad on Tuesday, September 9.
The search was a carried out based on a complaint raised to food safety commissioner.
The violations found were:
Dirty utensils, flooring & wash areas
Fridges not cleaned/defrosted
Degenerated chopping boards
Cockroach/housefly infestation (Banjara Hills, Gachibowli)
Expired food (Medipally)
Rotten fruits with fungal infestation (Inorbit).
Storage lapses:
Food stored on floor & with rat pads
Beetle-infested flour (AS Rao Nagar) rat feces on racks,
Rusty/unhygienic storage, labelling and display violations of food safety and standards regulations 2020
Items seized, notices issued, samples lifted, action initiated.
Earlier this month, the food safety task force also inspected three branches of Grill Affair upon receiving a complaint.
Violations found included poor hygiene, no pest control/health records, reused oil, open kitchens w/o mesh, cobwebs, mixed/ uncovered food, pest infestation. Action was initiated, as per the task force.
Similar inspections were conducted across the state in hotels, hostel mess and chicken shops. Seven notices were issued and 18 samples were taken for adulteration testing, stocks in 3 facilities discarded for expired goods & synthetic colours.
