Four men jailed for moving around at midnight in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: In a bizarre incident, four men have been arrested and imprisoned for reportedly moving around near Tolichowki police station limits at midnight, Tolichowki SHO said in a tweet.
In a post on social media platform X, Tolichowki police said that the men were found roaming without any valid reason. "A case has been booked and they have been remanded to judicial custody from three to seven days by the Hon’ble XII Special Court, Manoranjini Complex.”
"Tolichowki Police advises citizens not to move around on the roads during midnight hours without valid reasons or in a suspicious manner,” L Ramesh Naik, Tolichowki Inspector said in an appeal to the general public.

In response to the declaration, netizens expressed outrage over the arrest and asked the police why the young men should have any reason to roam around their own city.
"The city belongs to everyone. It's not your personal property,” one of them said.
"How can you release their photos without them being involved in any crime except roaming during the midnight without any valid reason? Did you check their past records?” another asked.
"Sir, Quick question: Is it illegal to go out at night just 4 fresh air/refreshment after long wrk hrs? Any rule saying it’s ok on main rds but not in by-lanes? What does law actually say? If any section applies, pls share. Just curious & want clarity.”
