Hyderabad bound British Airways flight receives hoax bomb threat

Hyderabad: The Rajeev Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) received yet another bomb threat, this time for the British Airlines flight, which was set to land in Hyderabad on Tuesday, December 23.

After the flight landed safely, the airline staff and CISF personnel carried out a thorough checking of the aircraft.

Officials initiated standard safety protocols such as isolating the aircraft, screening passengers and baggage, fire engines on standby and deployed sniffer dogs before checking the plane.

The airport’s customer service received the email threat to BA 277 flight from Heathrow to Hyderabad. After the thorough search, officials declared that it was a hoax email threat.

Hoax email threat on Monday:

It comes after the airport received a hoax email threat on Monday, which was related to KLM Airlines flight from Amsterdam. Police officials, declared it a hoax after conducting a thorough search of the flight. On late Sunday, RGIA customer support received a similar email threatening the safety of the Amsterdam-Hyderabad (KL 873) flight. Police officials said that nothing suspicious was found after searching the flight.

Other email threats in recent times included IndiGo flights from Madinah-Hyderabad, Sharjah-Hyderabad.
