Hyderabad: Chinese Manja claims the life of five-year-old child

Hyderabad: A 5-year-old girl became the latest victim of killer Chinese Manja, this time in Kukatpally area of the city on Monday evening.
She was traveling with her parents on a two-wheeler when a Manja slit her throat and claimed her life. The incident occurred on Kukatpally National Highway near Metro Pillar No 781 in Sumitra Nagar, almost ten days after Sankranti.
Chinese Manja entangled around the child’s neck:
The five-year-old child identified as Nishvika Aditya, was seated at the front of her father on the motorcycle, when a Chinese Manja got entangled around her neck, causing severe injuries.
Upon hearing his daughter’s screams, he immediately stopped the vehicle and saw her bleeding profusely. The parents rushed her to the nearest private hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
Background of the family:
The child’s parents, D Ramsagar and Padmavathi, who are from BR Ambedkar Konaseema district, settled in Hyderabad. The couple had recently bought a home and stepped out with their daughter to pick some items for the interiors. The tragic incident occurred while they were returning home.
Kukatpally Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. Kukatpally CI K Venkata Subbarao said that they are examining how the banned Chinese Manja was found on a busy road.

The purchase or sale of Chinese Manja is banned because of its lethal nature, but it continues to claim innocent lives.
