The suspect, Vadde Katamaiah, 24, hails from Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh and was in Hyderabad to attend courses related to cybercrime. During the course of training, he reportedly learnt techniques to steal cash from ATMs.

As per the police, Katamaiah studied technical features of ATMs belonging to particular companies and employed that knowledge to commit theft.
