Hyderabad Metro Rail Corporation has extended metro timings in view of Ganesh immersion on September 6.
The first train on September 6 will start at 6 am and will run till midnight, Metro Rail officials said. The last train will leave all stations at 1 am on September 7th and will reach its destinations at 2 am, a statement read.
It is to ease commute for devotees who take part in Ganesh immersion activities in the city.
Metro Rail officials said that they have arranged additional staff, police and private security at Khairatabad and Lakdikapul metro stations, especially in view of Khairatabad Bada Ganesh Shobha Yatra.
They said that additional ticket counters are being set up at selected metro stations according to the rush. Metro passengers coming to Khairatabad have been requested to observe self-discipline and cooperate with the metro security staff.
TGSRTC, MMTS arrangements:
Telangana RTC has said that it will ply 230 buses from different parts of the city along key sites along Ganesh procession routes on Saturday and Sunday.
TGSRTC, Hyderabad region, has proposed 230 buses along with officers and staff working in coordination with the traffic police to assist with traffic management and vehicle movement.
MMTS has announced that it will run additional trips. Officials said that MMTS services will be available from the day of immersion until the next morning.
