Hyderabad nursery student assault: School attendant arrested

The video which went viral online, showed the private school attendant dragging, hitting, stomping on her and kicking the child.

Hyderabad: A child in nursery was brutally attacked and assaulted by a school attendant at Purnima School in Jeedimetla, Shahpur Nagar area of the city, tv9 telugu reported.

The video which went viral online, showed the private school helper dragging, hitting, stomping on her and kicking the child.

The parents of the child, who was admitted to the hospital with a high fever, complained to the Jeedimetla police after the video surfaced online. A young man in the next building reportedly recorded the attack on his cell phone and put it on social media, after which the police registered a case and took the woman into custody.

The child had soiled her clothes during class and the helper was asked by the teacher to help the child to change clothes. The helper, instead, took her to the open compound and thrashed and assaulted the child. She can be heard crying continuously as the assault continued. 

Notices to school management:

The police sent notices to the school principal and management and the CI said that appropriate action will be taken after the investigation. Parents and locals have demanded that the school's recognition be cancelled and it be sealed.

Child Rights Commission's response:

Telangana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights member Saritha Gogula has said that she has received many complaints through various social media platforms regarding the incident of a female assistant (Aya) inhumanely torturing a nursery child at Purnima School under Jeedimetla police station limits.

She said that she will personally look into the issue and appealed to the authorities to pay immediate attention to the matter and take strict action.
