New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Narcotics Task Force (UP ANTF) arrested a supporting actor, Man Singh, who has appeared in popular web series like "Farzi" and "The Family Man," in connection with the MDMA trafficking case. Singh was arrested by the UP ANTF's Agra unit from Mumbai after being on the run.
Officials revealed that Singh, a resident of Rajouri Garden in Delhi, had allegedly used his connections within the film industry as a façade to facilitate the trafficking of narcotics. The ANTF stated that Singh was a wanted accused in a case involving the distribution of the banned narcotic substance MDMA. His arrest followed a prolonged search operation that ultimately led ANTF teams to Mumbai.
Singh made minor appearances in various films and web series
During initial interrogation, Singh reportedly confessed to moving to Mumbai from Delhi in 2008 with aspirations of a career in the film industry. He claimed to have been active in the industry for approximately 15 years, with minor appearances in various films and web series. However, investigators have so far been able to trace his credited work primarily to the two prominent web series.
The police further disclosed that in Mumbai, Singh allegedly fell into the company of an individual who drew him into the world of drug trafficking. It is alleged that Singh then began procuring drugs from Mumbai and subsequently supplying them to Agra and Delhi.
Financial motivations a key driver
The investigation has pointed towards financial motivations as a key driver behind Singh's alleged involvement in the drug racket. Authorities stated that despite having some work in the industry, it was reportedly not meeting his financial expectations. Eager to achieve greater success and with the need for funds for career-related expenses, Singh allegedly turned to illegal activities.

Singh's name reportedly surfaced during the interrogation of two individuals previously arrested with MDMA. The UP ANTF had been actively searching for him for the past six months before his eventual capture. The arrest was made as part of an ongoing crackdown on wanted criminals. A case has been registered against Man Singh under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. At the time of his arrest, Singh was reportedly residing in the Marina Enclave Building in Malvani, Mumbai.
