New Delhi: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will close the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 counselling registration today at 10 PM for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes. Candidates can complete the CLAT 2026 counselling registration through the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
In the CLAT counselling registration timeline, candidates can select a minimum of 15 preferences for UG and at 5 for PG programmes. The candidates can also select more preferences.
The CLAT 2026 counselling registration includes registration, payment of the counselling fee, choice filling and locking and acceptance of seat allotment. There will be a total of five rounds of counselling. The official notice reads, 'If a candidate is not allotted a seat in a given round, they are requested to wait for the next round of counselling as this is a sequential process.'
The CLAT counselling registration fee for the general category candidates is Rs 30,000, while for the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), Backward Class(BC), Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Persons with Disability (PwD) category candidates is Rs 20,000.
As per the CLAT counselling schedule, the round 1 seat allotment result will be declared on January 7. Candidates allotted seats at law colleges need to confirm the allotment and pay the admission fee by January 15.
'Candidates will be considered for ONLY those NLUs for which they have provided the preference. Example: - If a candidate has chosen only fifteen preferences, then he/she will be considered only for allotment in those fifteen preferences and not to any other NLUs, even if vacancies are available in other NLUs though he or she might be otherwise entitled to the merit list,' the official notice reads.
