ICAI CA September 2025 exams postponed in Kathmandu amid protests
The ICAI CA exam scheduled to be held on September 9 and 10 has been postponed in Kathmandu only. The revised dates for the exams scheduled on the two dates in Kathmandu will be announced by the exam conducting authority in due course of time.
New Delhi: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has rescheduled the ICAI CA September 2025 exams in Kathmandu, Nepal amid widespread protests. As per reports, the ICAI president stated that the CA Intermediate, Final exams 2025 will be conducted once the situation in the country returns to normal.
The ICAI CA Inter exams 2025 are underway, scheduled between September 4 to September 15. The Group 1 papers are dated for September 4, 7 and 9, and Group 2 exams for September 11, 13 and 15. CA The final exams 2025 dates are September 3, 6 and 8 for Group 1, and September 10, 12, and 14 for Group 2.
In the latest notification, ICAI stated, 'It is announced for general information that in view of the widespread protests in Nepal , the Chartered Accountants Examinations scheduled to be held on 9th and 10th September 2025 stand postponed in Kathmandu (Nepal) only. Revised dates for the exams scheduled on the above two dates in Kathmandu shall be announced soon'.
ICAI CA exam postponed in Punjab, Jammu
Recently, the ICAI postponed the CA September 2025 exams in some cities of Punjab and Jammu amid heavy rainfall and flood-like situation. As per the official notice released, the exam was rescheduled in Amritsar, Bathinda, Jalandhar, Pathankot, Ludhiana, Mandi Gobindgarh, Patiala, Sangrur and Jammu city.
Nepal protest due to social media ban
The protest in Nepal started after the government imposed a ban on major social media platforms which include Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and YouTube. Citing tax evasion and cybersecurity concerns the widespread protests, particularly among the youth were triggered who viewed it as a restriction on free speech.
The Nepal army has imposed a nationwide curfew and restrictive orders as per the latest update. It also let to the resignation of the Prime Minister of Nepal, KP Oli. Amid the online violence in the country, the social media ban was lifted on September 7.
