JEE Advanced 2026 Exam Date: IIT Roorkee to conduct exam on May 17
IIT Roorkee has announced that the JEE Advanced entrance exam will be held on May 17. One should note that only the top 2.5 lakh candidates who qualify in the JEE Main will be eligible for the entrance exam.
New Delhi: The long wait for the JEE Advanced 2026 exam date is over. The organising institute of JEE Advanced 2026, IIT Roorkee, has announced that the JEE Advanced 2026 exam will be held on May 17. The written exam will be held in two shifts: Paper 1 from 9 AM to 12 PM and Paper 2 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
The exam authority has also released the JEE Advanced eligibility criteria. Candidates must note that there is no official announcement yet regarding the registration and other details. Only the top 2,50,000 candidates who qualify in the JEE Main 2025 combining session 1 and 2 will be shortlisted to appear for the JEE Advanced 2026 exam.

How many candidates will be shortlisted for JEE Advanced?
Candidates are advised to read the official information before kick-starting the registration process. The exam authority has described the eligibility criterion in terms of performance in the JEE Main exam, age limit, number of attempts, appearance in class 12 and earlier admissions at IITs.
