JEE Main 2026 in West Bengal deferred due to Saraswati Puja
The JEE Main 2026 exam in West Bengal set for January 23 has been rescheduled due to Saraswati Puja celebrations. NTA will provide affected candidates with a new date from the existing session 1 schedule and will notify through the official website.
New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to defer the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 in West Bengal dated for January 23, due to Saraswati Puja celebrations. The exam conducting authority has stated that students in West Bengal will be given a new exam date from the JEE Main session 1 schedule.
The change comes after several candidates requested it due to the festival falling on the same day. Affected candidates will be informed about the new exam date through official NTA notifications.
NTA post on X reads, 'In view of the representations received from candidates in the state of West Bengal regarding the celebration of Saraswati Puja on 23rd January 2026, it has been decided that all candidates scheduled to appear for JEE (Main) in West Bengal on 23rd January 2026 shall be allotted another date of examination among the advertised dates for JEE (Main) 2026 Session 1 examination.'
JEE Main 2026 admit card, exam date
JEE Mains 2026 admit card will be released at jeeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates will need the JEE Main 2026 application number and password to download the JEE admit card. Students are required to carry the JEE Main 2026 admit card to the exam centre to appear for the entrance exam. The authority has set to conduct the JEE Main exam on January 21, 22, 23, 24, 28 and 29. The exam for Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) and Bachelor of Planning (BPlan) programmes is scheduled for January 29. The first shift of the exam will be held from 9 AM to 12 noon, while shift 2 will take place from 3 PM to 6 PM.
