NTA issues advisory for JEE Main 2026 aspirants; directs updates in Aadhaar, certificates

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an advisory for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026 aspirants to update their Aadhaar card, Unique Disability Identity (UDID) card for Person with Disability category candidates and respective category certificates in advance.
As per the NTA, the updation of these documents will help candidates avoid errors, discrepancies or rejection during the JEE Main application process. Students need to ensure that all details match the academic records to ensure smooth registration process.
Key advisory for aspirants
NTA’s advisory specifies that the Aadhaar card must reflect correct details such as the name of the candidate, date of birth, latest photograph, address, and father’s name. The PwD category candidates must ensure that the UDID card is valid, updated and renewed if necessary.
For candidates applying under reserved categories, the category certificate must also be updated and valid. This applies to students from EWS, SC, ST and OBC-NCL categories. Those who fail to update these documents might face complications during the JEE Main 2026 application process.
The NTA has also assured that further notifications, instructions, and exam-related details will be published on its official website in the coming months. Students are advised to check the portal regularly to avoid missing important announcements.
JEE Main 2026 exam schedule
The NTA has confirmed that JEE Main 2026 will be held in two sessions. Session 1 is scheduled for January 2026, while session 2 will take place in the month of April 2026. The application form for the first session will be made available in October 2025 on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.
Every year, JEE Main is conducted twice to provide students with two opportunities to improve their performance. The exam serves as a gateway for admission into undergraduate engineering, pharmacy, and planning programmes in institutes across India.
