New Delhi: Actor Aamir Khan-starrer, Sitaare Zameen Par, is all set to release on YouTube, which will be released on the video sharing platform’s Movies-on-Demand. Actor Aamir Khan decided to skip the traditional OTT route and is now, set to release his last release, Sitaare Zameen Par, on YouTube, which will be available on rent.

The movie collected Rs 165.50 crore India net and Rs 267 crore at the worldwide box office. The film grossed Rs 195.29 crore in India and had an overseas collection of Rs 62.25 crore.

Sitaare Zameen Par to release on YouTube

Aamir Khan’s latest release, Sitaare Zameen Par, will be released on the actor’s official YouTube channel, Aamir Khan Talkies: Janta Ka Theatre, at Rs 100 per view. The movie will be premiered on YouTube on August 1. Aamir Khan has also launched his YouTube channel, Aamir Khan Talkies: Janta Ka Theatre, where all the movies under Aamir Khan Productions will start streaming from August 1 onwards.

Speaking at the press conference, the actor announced the same and said, "We have tried to keep a balance. Today, if you see the model of pay-per-view, the model of video on demand, it is still on a small scale, on different platforms. And if I am not wrong, it has Rs 250 for renting, Rs 230, Rs 180, and Rs 170. We have kept a minimum of Rs 100 for everyone. And we have kept a minimum of Rs 100 because we want to reach everyone. Once upon a time, what was mass media?"

"Today, I feel that mass media is not able to use the facilities of cinema. I want to make it mass media again. My film should be watched by everyone. And should be watched with respect. Without stealing it. There is no need to steal it. My film should be watched with respect. Everyone should be able to watch it. That is why we have kept this price," Aamir said.

He further added, "In the subscription model, you are more or less, in a way, giving it for free. It is not free, you are giving subscription. But you have not paid for the film you are going to watch. You have paid for the subscription, and whatever film is coming, you will be able to watch it.”
