Mumbai: Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna's horror comedy movie Thamma is all set to release on October 21. While netizens are looking forward to the film, a new report revealed the payments of the characters, especially those of the pivotal characters.
DNA reported that Ayushmann charged Rs 8-10 crores for the movie, and Rashmika allegedly was paid Rs 5-7 crores for the project. The report also revealed the fees charged by the antagonist. Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The report claimed that he was paid somewhere between Rs 3 and Rs 4 crore. Whereas, Paresh Rawal received Rs 2 crore, and Malaika Arora was also paid the same for her special dance "Poison Baby".
Thamma, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, is the fifth movie in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe after Stree, Bhediya, Munjya, and Stree 2.
In addition to the cast, Varun Dhawan is said to be making an appearance in the movie.
Previously, Ayushmann clarified whether Thamma was in any way similar to the Malayalam movie Lokah. He said, "We are high on comedy. Though I enjoyed Lokah, but I also feel that…I was shooting in Allahabad at that time, and it was not released there. So ours is a more massy film because it penetrates down to the Hindi-speaking markets also. Lokah could be a good induction for certain multiplex audiences towards this thing, but we have a different genesis, different situations, and it’s a different story. But there’s hardly any similarities."
Rashmika too claimed that the movie would start a different conversation "Knowing what we have in store and knowing where we are coming from, I can promise you that it’s going to be a different experience," said the actress.
