Ban on Instagram of Pak celeb lifted but accounts of Hania Aamir and Fawad Khan still blocked

New Delhi: After the terror attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam and India's retaliatory Operation Sindoor in Pakistan, relations between the two countries have been sour. During the period of high tensions, many Pakistani celebrities had criticised India and the Indian armed forces. This saw action being taken by the Indian administration against many of these celebrities from Pakistan, among them were Hania Aamir and Fawad Khan.

New news has come regarding this issue though, with the Indian government finally reinstating some of these blocked accounts.

Some accounts back, other not

The Instagram accounts of Pakistani actors Mawra Hocane, Yumna Zaidi, Ahad Raza Mir, and Danish Taimoor are now accessible from India, after earlier being blocked.

Meanwhile there has been no official statement from the government of the Ministry of Information and Technology regarding this matter.

While the accounts of some of the earlier blocked Pakistani celebrities are now back, the accounts of major actors like Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan and Hania Aamir are still blocked.

It seems like it will be a while for their accounts to be reinstated in the country, in case they do. Hania Aamir, who commands a legion of fans in India, also had her Instagram account being banned in India after the Pahalgam attack. She is again in the throes of controversy as her recent film Sardaar Ji 3 with Diljit Dosanjh was severely criticised and saw its release being denied in India.

As a result of the controversy, many fans and Indian film associations have also asked Diljit to be banned from further working in the Indian film industry due to his casting of Hania Aamir in the film
