Binge list: Must-watch Punjabi films of Jimmy Shergill that will leave you amazed

New Delhi: There is no denying the fact that Jimmy Shergill is one of the finest actors in Indian cinema. Since the early 2000s, the 54-year-old hunk has time and again delivered entertaining performances on the silver screen. But most fans still primarily know him for his compelling portrayal of characters in the Hindi film industry. You will be amazed to know that Jimmy has headlined plenty of Punjabi movies as well.
Interestingly, in the past two decades, Jimmy has aced a diverse range of characters on screen in Punjabi cinema. While some touched hearts, there were a few that tickled the funny bone of moviegoers.
Jimmy Shergill Punjabi films
Munde UK De: The romantic comedy, directed by Manmohan Singh, was released in 2009. It also starred Amrinder Gill, Neeru Bajwa, Rana Ranbir and Gurpreet Ghuggi in pivotal roles. The flick turned out to be a commercial success at the Box Office.
Mel Karade Rabba: The Navaniat Singh directorial was written by Dheeraj Rattan. It marked the acting debut of Punjabi superstar Gippy Grewal. Jimmy garnered immense appreciation from his admirers for the film.
Dharti: The political suspense thriller featured Jimmy as a short-tempered ace Air Force pilot. Released in April 2011, the movie brought together an ensemble star cast including Surveen Chawla, Rannvijay Singh, Japji Khera, Prem Chopra, Rahul Dev, Binnu Dhillon and Shavinder Mahal.
Vaisakhi List: The Smeep Kang directorial was considered to be loosely based on the 2002 Korean movie Jail Breakers. Vaisakhi List follows two prisoners who make a master plan to escape. After the jailbreak, they get to know about the Vaisakhi list made by the government, in which they were to be pardoned.
Daana Paani: The 2018 flick was written by Jass Grewal and directed by Tarnvir Singh Jagpal. It revolves around a man who is given the task of informing the family of his colleague about the latter's demise. Things get complicated when he falls in love with the widow.
