Coldplays Chris Martin spotted with Sophie Turner; sparks dating rumours

Mumbai: Coldplay frontman Chris Martin was recently spotted with Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, sparking dating rumours. Chris, aged 48, was seen with 29-year-old Turner in London. According to the Daily Mail, the duo were on a quiet date at a private restaurant in the city. 

Despite the rumours, neither of them has commented on it. Both Chris and Sophie broke off their last relationships earlier this year. 

Turner, who was previously married to musician Joe Jonas, was in a relationship with British aristocrat Peregrine "Perry" Pearson. However, the relationship ended quickly. Chris, on the other hand, parted ways with long-time partner and actress Dakota Johnson after eight years this year. 

Interestingly, Chris once appeared in a surprise birthday video in 2020 for Sophie when she was still with Joe. It was arranged by Joe. 

Though the rumours are not confirmed, the news has garnered a lot of attention online. The alleged relationship had become a discussion topic on several platforms. Some sources stated that Sophie would require Chris's ex, Gwyneth Paltrow's, approval to date him. 

"They may have consciously uncoupled, but she’s the unofficial gatekeeper. You don’t date Chris without Gwyneth knowing — or approving. They vacation together, they text constantly, and she still helps manage parts of his world. She’s protective of him — and she’ll definitely have thoughts about Sophie," said the source, according to Rob Shutter's report. 

"She knows Sophie’s young, beautiful, and just out of a messy divorce….But if she makes Chris happy — Gwyneth will bless it," said another source. 

Chris and Gwyneth were married for over 10 years. In 2014, they announced that they were "consciously uncoupling".
