New Delhi: Rajinikanth-starrer Coolie, which sadly underperformed at the box office and received criticism upon its theatrical release on August 14, 2025, is now all set for its digital premiere. The film, which also has a cameo by Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, can be streamed online from next week onwards.
The film boasts an ensemble cast, including Nagarjuna, Soubin, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan, Rachitha Ram, and Pooja Hegde, and music by Anirudh.
Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna’s action drama film, Coolie, will be released on Amazon Prime Video on September 11 in four languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The film will be released in India and across more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. If you missed the movie in theatres or just want to re-watch it, then it will be available on OTT next week. However, the film will not be releasing in Hindi dubbed version and announcement on the same is awaited.
Set against the gritty backdrop of the Vishakhapatnam docks, Coolie follows Deva, a former coolie turned rebel who uncovers a deadly smuggling syndicate while investigating his friend’s mysterious death. The investigation leads to the discovery of a secret electric chair, buried truths and a hidden mole that pulls him into a dangerous game of betrayal and unfinished business. With ghosts of the past adding to his troubles, Deva’s journey becomes a battle of loyalty, survival, and rebellion.
Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film stars Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Soubin, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Pooja Hegde, and Rachitha Ram. The music of the film is by Anirudh Ravichander and is produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures.
Rajnikanth’s Coolie opened at the box office with Rs 65 crore and went on to mint Rs 229.65 crore by the end of its first week. In 21 days, the film collected Rs 282.45 crore at the ticket window.
