Mumbai: Dhurandhar casting director Mukesh Chhabra revealed his aims as a casting director. Chhabra said that he hopes to win an Oscar for India.

Speaking to Miss Malini, Chhabra stated, "It is my aim, and I will make sure it happens. Our department, casting, has been ignored at almost all awards in India, despite being one of the most important departments. They may realise this slowly, but that’s okay. I will bring an Oscar to India, and I am 100 per cent sure. I am already manifesting it, and I will make it happen. I am afraid to say such big things, but sometimes it is good to put them out into the universe. I will definitely bring an Oscar to this country for casting.”

Chhabra worked as a casting director for Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Jawan, Dunki, Rockstar, etc. Recently, the Oscars introduced the Best Casting category.

Previously, Chhabra talked about a 20-year age gap between Ranveer Singh and Sara Arjun in the film. Responding to the criticisms, he revealed why he cast Sara opposite Ranveer.

He stated, "I had got a very clear brief. The story is that he is trying to trap her. So, we knew that we wanted a young girl who is 20-21 years old. And when part 2 comes, whoever is talking about the age gap will get all the answers. It's not like we don't have good actors in that 26-27 years of age group; we have good actors. But this (age gap) was required in the film. Everything you can't explain to people. When I was also reading about the age gap, I was laughing. According to the film's brief, it is correct."

Dhurandhar has been doing phenomenally well at the box office. In just 12 days, the film crossed Rs 600 crore. Many inside and outside the industry, including the audience, gushed over the movie.

"Still buzzing after #Dhurandhar. The big-screen experience, the immersion, the thrill. And @ranveersingh-unreal. A shapeshifter, a joy, forever a fan. Every department is in perfect sync. Just stunning to watch," said Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
