New Delhi: Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi’s highly-anticipated mythological drama, Ramayana’s first glimpse will drop on July 3 around 12 pm. The makers will be releasing a three-minute announcement video and a seven-minute long Behind-The Scenes showreel giving insight into the planning and execution of the film.
Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial’s first part is scheduled to release on Diwali 2026 and the second part is slated to release on Diwali 2027. Now, in an exclusive conversation with TV9 English Digital, the producer and film business expert Girish Johar now shared his review about the first glimpse of Ramayana and called it “timeless piece of creation”.
Speaking with TV9 English Digital, Girish Johar said, “Ramayana’s first look will be humongous. It will be a film of one of its kind. And it will be a film which will be going into the pages of history. Because the film will have no age. By meaning, it is not that we forget it after 5 years, 10 years or 20 years. Like while we were younger, we used to watch Ramayana on TV and we still remember that. So, it is timeless. So, same will be with this particular film. It will be a timeless piece of creation for sure. Something astounding is on its way.”
The film’s shooting has been wrapped up and the filming of the second part will begin from August 2025. The movie stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Yash as Ravan, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Arun Govil as Dashrath, and Kunal Kapoor as Indra. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film is produced by Yash and Namit Malhotra of Prime Focus Studios.
