India’s 5 big-budget movies made till date: Ramayana, RRR and more

New Delhi: India is a country that makes the most movies in the world. It makes around 1500 to 2000 movies in a year in different languages and genres. We have made movies in a variety of themes, ranging from big budgets to low. However, there are few movies whose massive budgets makes jaws drop of everyone. These movies, obviously, have VFX cost to the star value.

The upcoming movie Ramayana's first glimpse will be revealed on Thursday (July 3), and this much-hyped movie is made on a budget of Rs 850 crore. The film is expected to be released in November next year. It stars Ranbir Kapoor in the role of Ram, Lakshman's role is played by Ravi Dubey, and Sita is portrayed by Sai Pallavi. The other cast of the movie includes Sunny Deol, Yash, Lara Dutta, Kajal Aggarwal, and Arun Govil, among others.

This Telugu movie was made on a budget of Rs 600 crore and was much appreciated by the audience. The film earned a total of Rs 1000 crore globally. It is directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by C Ashwini Dutt. The star cast of the film includes Prabhas, Disha Patani, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Mrunal Thakur, among others.

The Telugu Language film is made on a budget of Rs 550 crore and is directed by SS Rajamouli and produced by D V V Danayya. It stars NT Rama Rao Jr, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, and Alluri Sitaram Raju among others. The movie minted Rs 15,000 crore worldwide.

This Bollywood film is inspired by Ramayana and made on a budget of Rs 500 crore. The film is directed by Om Raut and produced by T-Series. It stars Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon, and Devdutta Nage among others. The movie was heavily criticised by the audience, and didn't earn much at the Box Office. It minted a total of Rs 340 crore worldwide.

This Bollywood film was made on a major budget of Rs 400 crore. It is directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and others. The movie stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and others. The film grossed a total of Rs 431 crores worldwide.
