New Delhi: Faissal Khan, brother of Aamir Khan, has made some serious allegations against the Sitaare Zameen Par actor and his family. In a press conference held in Mumbai, the Mela actor alleged that he was forcibly confined, medicated and was subjected to immense psychological trauma in 2005.
Recently, Faissal Khan announced through an Instagram post that he has cut ties with Aamir Khan and his family. In a post, he wrote, “With a heavy heart yet renewed courage, I wish to share that I have severed all family ties, as declared through a public notice. This step, though difficult, is essential for my healing and growth. Life now enters a new chapter of freedom, dignity, and self-discovery one that I embrace with positivity, truth, and strength.”
Former actor Faissal Khan recounted a harrowing ordeal, describing it as “torture in the name of care”. He made some explosive allegations against his family at a press conference on Monday (August 18). He alleged that his family admitted him against his will to Cozy Nursing Home, adding, “My family gave me wrong medication, tortured me, and locked me up in the Cozy Nursing Home,” he said. According to him, psychiatrist Dr Hari Shetty examined him there, and his very first remark was deeply disturbing. “He said, ‘You have to remove his burmi’. In Marathi slang, burmi means pride or ego. I was shocked that a doctor could say such a thing. From then on, I knew something very wrong was going to happen with me.”
He also revealed that Aamir Khan came to his home in 2005 and threatened him. He shared, “Aamir told me that if I did not go to the psychiatrist, there was a doctor in the next room who would give me an injection, make me unconscious, and take me away for a mental evaluation. I was shocked. If they wanted an evaluation, they could have simply asked me. I would have gone willingly.”
According to him, he was confined at the nursing home for 19 days, where he was forced to take medications against his will. He further said that one such medicine was ‘Serenase’, which he claimed was mixed into his drinking water by bodyguards. He recalled, “It is colorless, tasteless. They injected it into water bottles. I realised I was sleeping for 20 hours a day. I feared I could die of an overdose.”
He also claimed, “There were bodyguards outside my room. I was forced to take medicines. I gained weight and became 103 kilos. I felt helpless and completely at their mercy.” He said that after an year, he reminded Aamir of his promise to release him from the house arrest after an year, following which the actor shifted him to another property.
He further recalled that the family dispute began when his family started to pressurise him to marry his maternal cousin and when he strongly opposed it, it caused repeated fights. He said, “This caused repeated fights with my family. I started staying away to avoid conflict. That is when they began calling me mad.”
According to reports, Aamir helped Faissal with his career and due to his personal issues, he started living in the Pali Hill complex where Aamir and his family live. After he made allegations against the family, Aamir shared an official statement which read, “We are distressed by Faisal’s hurtful and misleading portrayal of his mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, his sister Nikhat Hegde, and his brother Aamir. As this is not the first time he has misrepresented these events, we feel it necessary to clarify our intentions, and reaffirm our solidarity as a family.”
It further added, “It is important to share that every choice regarding Faisal has been taken collectively as a family, in consultation with multiple medical professionals, and has been based on love, compassion, and a desire to support his emotional and psychological well being. For this reason, we have refrained from publicly discussing the details of a painful and difficult period for our family.”
