Mumbai: Th release of Kalamkaval, the highly anticipated Mammotty movie, has been pushed to next month. The revised date of the movie was announced by the makers along with a new poster. The film will now officially hit theatres on December 5. 

"We know you’ve waited long.. The wait will be worth it… #Kalamkaval In Cinemas Worldwide from December 5, 2025. Keep Calm and wait for him, " shared Mammootty Kampany on Instagram along with the latest poster. Fans of the superstar took to the comments section to address their disappointment. Many fans requested not to change the release date again.

Earlier, it was announced that the Mammootty and Vinayakan-starrer would be released on November 27. Unexpectedly, it was delayed. Mammootty Kampany announced the change of date with the post, "Delayed, NOT Diminished. We hear you… The wait is noted. The Venom Beneath Will Arrive Soon !! #Kalamkaval Release Postponed, New Release Date will be Announced Soon!!"

The film's trailer left Mammootty fans excited. The video quickly went viral, and netizens could not stop discussing the intense feelings delivered by the trailer. The striking line delivered by SJ Ethan — "The venom beneath can’t be suppressed forever" added to the intensity and depth of the trailer. 

It begins by featuring a tussle between two youngsters at Kottayikonam on the Kerala–Tamil Nadu border. The small conflict quickly escalates into a communal issue. Consequently, the Kerala Police Special Investigation team had to intervene, leading to the uncovering of shocking and unexpected truths. 

The scenes then shift to Vinayakan and Jibin Gopinath as officers. The trailer ends with the one and only Mammootty. His character, with a cigarette in hand, calmly states, "Do you know what gives the greatest pleasure when you kill it?"

The film also marks Mammootty's comeback after a hiatus due to health issues. Directed by debutant Jithin K Jose, the film features Meera Jasmine, Gayathri Arun, Vinayakan, Jibin Gopinath and Biju Pappan in pivotal roles.
