Poster of Christopher Nolans highly anticipated upcoming film ‘The Odyssey’ leaks online

After the success of Oppenheimer, Nolan is all set to return with a retelling of the Greek epic Odyssey. A poster of the film has reportedly leaked online.

New Delhi: Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film The Odyssey has been generating quite a buzz ever since it was announced. One of the most celebrated and influential directors working today, Nolan has defined the norms of what arthouse and commercial cinema are, time and again. 

With the success of his last film Oppenheimer, expectations over his next are at an all time high. The cast of the film has generated ample excitement, as have some of the leaked photographs from the set of the movie. For Nolan fans, a new update has come in which is sure to send fans into a renewed and multiplied frenzy.

Poster leaks online 

Over the past few days, the first poster of Nolan’s upcoming film titled The Odyssey has been making rounds online. It began appearing in AMC cinemas in the US, later a high-resolution version was also seen online. 

The poster shows the film’s title in bold blue letters, placed above the image of a Greek statue’s head. The visual is set against a deep blue background resembling a night sky. Beneath the title is the statement, "Shot entirely with IMAX film cameras”, while the tagline "Defy The Gods" appears in red above the release date.

Universal Pictures had earlier announced the release date of the film on social media, saying, "Christopher Nolan’s next film, 'The Odyssey,' is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand-new IMAX film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX screens for the first time and opens in cinemas everywhere on 17 July 2026 (sic).”

The Odyssey has been highly anticipated since its release, and it is directed, and co-produced by Christopher Nolan. A retelling of the Greek epic poem Odyssey attributed to Homer, it stars Matt Damon as Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, and chronicles his long and perilous journey home following the Trojan War. This occurs as he attempts to reunite with his wife Penelope. The ensemble cast, which has had fans in a frenzy, also includes Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Mia Goth, and Corey Hawkins.
