New Delhi: With just a week left for the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Friday released its poll manifesto, promising 1 crore government jobs if its voted to power in the state. The ruling coalition has also promised to make a crore 'lakhpati didis' with an aim to empower women to earn a lakh annually.
The NDA, in its manifesto -- 'For developed Bihar'-- has also vowed to carry out a skill census to provide skill-based employment, If re-elected. It also promised to set up mega skill centres in each district.
Besides promising jobs to youth and financial support to women, the NDA's manifesto also focuses on these sectors -- infrastructure, farmers' welfare, education, and healthcare.
Assembly elections in Bihar is slated to be held in two phases on November 6 and 11. Counting of votes will be done on November 14.
In its manifesto, the NDA also promised to provide financial help and skill development to fig workers and auto drivers. It also promised to give Rs 10 lakh to EBC people and form commission under chairmanship of SC judge if voted to power.
