Bhau gang claims responsibility for firing at YouTuber Elvish Yadav’s Gurugram home

The shooting comes just days after a similar attack on Bollywood singer Fazilpuria. While Yadav's father claimed 25–30 rounds were fired, Gurugram Police put the number at 10–12. The family has not reported receiving any prior threats and has yet to file a formal complaint.

New Delhi: Gangster Neeraj Faridpur and Bhau Ritolia of the Bhau gang claimed responsibility after unidentified assailants opened fire outside the Sector 57, Gurugram residence of YouTuber and Bigg Boss winner Elvish Yadav early Sunday morning. According to reports, between 25 and 30 rounds were fired.

The gang made the announcement through social media. Explaining the reason for the attack, they alleged in their post that Elvish had promoted betting apps, which had ruined many families.

"The bullets fired today at Elvish Yadav's house were shot by Neeraj Faridpur and Bhau Ritolia. Today we have introduced ourselves. Elvish has destroyed many households by promoting betting. This is a warning to all the so-called social media insects that anyone found promoting betting may get a call or a bullet anytime. All those involved in betting should be prepared," the post read. The post has not been officially verified.

Yadav was not at home at the time. His mother and a caretaker were inside the house during the attack, but no injuries were reported. Yadav is currently abroad.

Investigators trying to identify attackers

Police said the firing took place around 5.30am, when three men arrived on a motorcycle and two of them opened fire. Shots were fired at the ground and first floors of the house, while Yadav usually stays on the second and third floors. Investigators are scanning nearby CCTV footage and collecting evidence from the scene to identify the attackers.
