Voter IDs, Pak-made chocolates: Amit Shah lists proof as Chidambaram doubts Pahalgam terrorists origin
Amit Shah said that the three terrorists who were killed in Operation Mahadev on Monday were involved in the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed.
New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday came down heavily upon Congress leader P Chidambaram for questioning the identity of the terrorists involved in the April 22 Pahalgam attack and demanding proof of them being from Pakistan. He accused Congress leaders of shielding Pakistan over linkages to the Pahalgam attack.
Speaking in Lok Sabha during the discussion on Operation Sindoor, Shah said, "I was pained yesterday when former Home Minister P Chidambaram raised the question that what was the proof that the Pahalgam terrorists came from Pakistan? What is Chidambaram trying to say? Whom does he want to save? What will you gain by saving Pakistan? When he says this, it means they are giving a clean chit to Pakistan."

Shah said that the three terrorists who were killed in Operation Mahadev on Monday were involved in the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed. "I want to tell the House and people of the country that those who killed our people in Baisaran Valley ... all three terrorists have been killed," Shah said in the Lok Sabha. He also revealed that the three terrorists have been identified as Suleiman, Afghan and Jibran.
Shah further said that the security forces had recovered Pakistani voter IDs of two of the killed terrorists as well as chocolates made in Pakistan and the weapons. "We have their voter ID numbers. The rifles and cartridges used were made in Pakistan," he added. Shah said that the terrorists who were hiding during the UPA rule are now being neutralised under the Narendra Modi government. "Pakistan is Congress' mistake. If they had not accepted partition, there would have been no Pakistan today." he added.
'Opposition not happy with killing of Pahalgam terrorists'
Mounting hit attack on the Opposition, he said it seems they are not happy with the killing of the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack. "After PM Modi approved Operation Sindoor, our Army and CRPF wiped out those terrorists… I will tell everyone how their ‘Aaka’ got killed? I will tell them by name, place, hour, minutes and second," the Union Home Minister said.
"I was expecting that the opposition will be happy to hear the news that the terrorists have been killed, ‘Par Siyahi Pad Gayi Hain Inke Chehre Pe’. What kind of politics is this? Aren't you happy that terrorists have been killed?" he asked.
Shah also responded to Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav's remark during debate on Operation Sindoor and told him not to be upset over the religion of the terrorists eliminated in Operation Mahadev. "Akhilesh ji... please sit down, I will respond to every question. Don't be sad over the religion of the terrorists," he said.
