Cyclone Ditwah: Flash flood alert issued for three districts in South Coastal AP
Nellore, Chittoor, Kadapa districts are likely to be affected by Cyclone Ditwah.
Flash flood warnings have been issued for Nellore on the south coast, Chittoor and Kadapa districts in Rayalaseema. Winds with a speed of 50 km per hour are likely to blow along Coastal Andhra from this afternoon.
APSDMA warns fishermen to not venture out:
Heavy rains are likely in some places in Chittoor and Tirupati districts on Saturday, November 29. Moderate to heavy rain is likely in some places in Prakasam, Nellore, Kadapa, and Annamayya districts. Light to moderate rains are likely in Bapatla, Palnadu, Kurnool, Nandyal, Anantapur, and Sri Sathya Sai districts, Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority said.
Fishermen should not venture out for fishing until Tuesday, APSDMA MD Prakhar Jain said.
Cyclone 'Ditwah' formed on the coast of Sri Lanka in South-West Bay of Bengal and is moving rapidly towards North-North-West. Currently, it is centered 220 km from Karaikal, 330 km from Puducherry, 430 km from Chennai. The cyclone has moved at a speed of 7 kmph in the past six hours.
Telangana weather forecast:
Heavy rain is likely in Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthi, Narayanapet and Jogulamba Gadwala districts in Telangana. The highest temperature was recorded in Bhadrachalam at 16 degrees and the lowest at 11.2 degrees in Adilabad, IMD Hyderabad said.
