IMD forecasts heavy rain for AP on Nov 29, 30

An intense low-pressure area is centered in the Malakka Bay region and another low-pressure area has formed over Comorin, the Southwest Bay of Bengal, and the surrounding areas of Sri Lanka due to surface circulation effects.

Visakhapatnam: Heavy rainfall is likely at some places in South Coastal AP, North Coastal AP and Yanam, Rayalaseema over November 29, 30, India Meteorological Department Amaravati said.

 Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has noted that an intense low-pressure area is centered in the Malakka Bay region.

It has indicated that within the next six hours, it will move westward-northwestward and is likely to intensify into a depression in the same region. It has said that there is a possibility it will strengthen into a cyclone in the South Bay of Bengal within the subsequent 48 hours.

APSDMA has stated that another low-pressure area has formed over Comorin, the Southwest Bay of Bengal, and the surrounding areas of Sri Lanka due to surface circulation effects. It has said that there is a possibility of it intensifying within 24 hours.

It has indicated that, due to its influence, there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall at isolated places in Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema from Saturday to Tuesday -November 29 to December 2.
