Seven women arrested in gold jewellery heist in Visakhapatnam
The women identified as Nagamani, Gnanamma, and Padma from Vijayawada were arrested in Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam.
Visakhapatnam: Seven women have been arrested after carrying out planned robberies at two gold jewellery shops in Pendurthi and Gajuwaka neighbourhoods of Visakhapatnam, tv9 telugu reported.
The accused women were reportedly part of two gangs, posed as customers and tried to escape after hiding the jewellery in their hair and sarees. Upon realising what was happening, the staff immediately alerted the police.
The women identified as Nagamani, Gnanamma, and Padma from Vijayawada were arrested in Gajuwaka while Nagendramma, Renuka, Krishnaveni, and Venkataramanamma from Khammam were arrested in Pendurthi.
Bomb threats for courts in Anantapur, Chittoor:
In other news, local courts in Anantapur and Chittoor districts of Andhra Pradesh received bomb threats, reports said.
Shortly after the threat, lawyers and litigants present in the courts were evacuated, and searches were conducted.
Anantapur District Principal Judge Bheemarao stated that the threats were received via email. The judicial officers handed over the emails to the police, who have launched an investigation. Meanwhile, searches were also conducted in other courts across Chittoor district.
