Bihar to get four new trains, PM Modi to flag off Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat Express today
Bihar is set to strengthen its rail connectivity with the launch of four new trains, including the Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat Express trains today. The PM will also inaugurate Katihar-Siliguri-Katihar Express, which will run daily. The highlight of the launch is the Vande Bharat Express between Jogbani and Danapur.
New Delhi: Bihar is set to strengthen its rail connectivity with the launch of four new trains, including the Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat Express trains which will be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 15.
The highlight of the launch is the Vande Bharat Express between Jogbani and Danapur. The train will depart from Forbesganj Railway station at 3:30 pm, covering 453 km in approximately 8 hours and 10 minutes at an average speed of 55.47 kmph.
In addition, two Amrit Bharat Express trains will be inaugurated. he Jogbani–Erode Amrit Bharat Express will operate once a week, covering a distance of 3,129 km in 63 hours and 50 minutes at an average speed of 49.01 kmph. Meanwhile, the Saharsa–Chheharta (Amritsar) Amrit Bharat Express will run via Supaul, Saraigarh, Jhanjharpur, Sitamarhi, Raxaul, Narkatiyaganj, Gorakhpur, Moradabad, and Ambala Cantt. The inaugural train numbered 05531, will depart Saharsa at 3:30 pm on September 15 and reach Chhehrata at 2:00 am on September 17, covering multiple scheduled stops along the route.
PM also to inaugurate daily Katihar-Siliguri-Katihar Express
Bihar will also receive the Katihar-Siliguri-Katihar Express, which will run daily and be flagged off from Araiya Court Railway Station on September 15. "Tomorrow, Saharsa will get its direct Amrit Bharat Express to Amritsar and the Vande Bharat Express passing through here. Both trains will be flagged off by the Prime Minister,” said Samastipur Division DRM Jyoti Prakash Mishra, as quoted by news agency IANS.
The DRM also said that under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, a new building is being constructed at Saharsa Junction for Rs 44 crore. However, its inauguration has been postponed as several works, including the installation of air conditioners in offices and the VIP waiting room, as well as lifts and escalators are still incomplete. "The contractor has been directed to complete the remaining work within the next three to four days,” Mishra said on Sunday.
