The video of the incident was captured in a camera installed inside a car, which was incidentally passing through the same route at the time of the incident. The footage has now gone viral.

Two people, one male and another female, were injured in the accident. Accidents are on the rise on the roads, due to potholes, including on National Highways. The public has repeatedly appealed to the government to help repair roads and rid them of potholes, so that traveling is a smooth experience.

The condition of roads is almost similar in all states of the country. Just a few days ago, a 'Ground Report' article highlighted that 703 lives were lost due to accidents caused by potholes in Madhya Pradesh, in 2024. The crashes happened mostly due to poor infrastructure.

Road crashes rose from 456,959 in 2019 to 480,583 in 2023, which was a jump of more than 5 per cent in as many years. Deaths in such accidents rose by 8.7 per cent, it said. Poor road conditions and negligent road construction are responsible for the rising accidents and deaths.
